My Pink & Green Baby Shower

Written By Unknown on Monday, April 7, 2014 | 6:56 AM

I was so lucky Thursday evening to be spoiled beyond belief by my wonderful officemates. When the clock hit five o'clock, we headed to our coworker's house, and I was just blown away at how gorgeous everything was! These ladies really went above and beyond with their planning.

The menu featured delicious Southern fare -- BBQ (with the sauces served in baby bottles!), baked beans, coleslaw, deviled eggs, corn salad, fruit salad, and sweet treats. I was in heaven. OH! And sweet tea. Lots of sweet tea since that has been a craving of mine.

The ladies treated Miss Priss to so many amazing gifts. So very, very thoughtful.

A fun game that the hostesses planned is that they had a timer set on one of their phones. The timer went off every few minutes while I was opening gifts. Whoever brought the gift that I had in my hands when the timer rang won a gift bag. How sweet is that idea?!

The bags on the buffet below read "BABY SHOWER" and they were part of a game where you had to write down a baby-related item for each of the letters in that phrase. So, for example, B = bottle, A = aspirator, you get the drift. Whoever had the most correct won a prize.

Lastly, what's a baby shower without a little baby food on the menu? The most hilarious part of the evening was when we had to try four different kinds of jarred baby food and guess correctly what they were. You should have seen some of the faces ... especially when it came to the green beans.

During the time that I was opening gifts, one of my hostess friends was taking the gifts from the room. What I didn't know is that she was setting them all up in a semi-circle near the front door so that when it was time for the shower to come to the end, the ladies got me to stand there in a receiving-line fashion, and everyone got to see all the precious gifts on their way out ... and I doled out lots of hugs and thanks! It was such a cute way to end the shower.

Additionally, everyone who came left with one of the hostesses' infamous cake pops. They were lemon on the inside -- my favorite.

These are the hostesses, and I can't brag on them enough. They truly planned such a perfect shower.

As a small thank you, I gave them all some pretty candles tied up in pink tulle ribbon.

And I can't forget the two sweet pups that hung out with their dad all night outside of the home while twenty loud and giggling women descended upon their abode ... those doggies got some treats!

I am honored to work with such thoughtful and caring women. They truly make each day a joy. And they already love our little girl (who they have affectionately nicknamed Maple Rose) so very, very much!
