Spill About Your L-O-V-E: A Gal And Her Dog

Written By Unknown on Thursday, June 6, 2013 | 3:47 AM

Today you'll hear from Hillary from A Gal And Her Dog.  She is a new mama to sweet Hadley and wife to Sean.  Her sweet spirit shines through her blog, and I think you will agree.  Hope you enjoy meeting Hillary!

{1} Describe your dating life prior to finding your husband.
Before meeting Sean, I had a string of unserious (is that a word? I guess it is because my autocorrect didn’t flag it!) flings with some very serious losers. I had a thing for attracting deadbeats and I drug out the whole rebellious date-a-guy-your-parents-will-hate thing for way too long.

{2} Describe your husband in one word.  How would he describe you in one word?
Sean is spirited.
He would describe me as intense.

{3} You had a really silly fight.  Embarrassing silly.  What was it about?
What have we not had a silly fight about? You know those couples who claim to have never had a fight? Yeah, that’s not us.

Let’s see. Once, way back before we were married and I was a single gal, Sean made me dinner and baked some cornbread. The only baking pan I had was in the shape of a heart (oh the necessities of a college girl). When I saw the heart-shaped bread, my eyes filled up with tears and I said, “Aww, you baked me a corny heart!” Sean made fun of me for an hour.

Years later, we still call cornbread “corny heart” and a few weeks ago we got into a fight over who gets to take credit for it. I say me because I named it, but he says him because he made it. You be the judge on that one, but we can all agree that it was a silly fight.

{4} In three sentences (and only three!), describe where you both hope to be in 5 years.
In 5 years we’ll have a little girl finishing kindergarten and maybe Hadley will have a baby brother or sister?? Who knows? I do know that I would be happy as can be if our lives were still chugging along just like they are now.

{5} Tell us something about your husband we wouldn't know from reading your blog.
I don’t mention enough that my husband is a chef -- and a talented one at that. I’m going to force him to start sharing some recipes with everyone over at my blog in the coming weeks. Get ready to see why I should take up permanent residence on my elliptical machine, friends.
