We are back from a very nice visit with my mother-in-law at the beach, which was then followed by celebrating the Fourth of July here in Charlotte. Now that things are getting settled back down, I can truly say that I love NORMAL. I love normal days, normal schedules. There is a sense of order and predictability that just works for us, and I find joy in the small, easy things like walks around the neighborhood and morning snuggles in bed with the little one.
Packing for the beach was most challenging for Camille (even though she didn't step foot on the actual beach), but when it came to packing my bag, it was pretty simple. I knew we planned to be in the water every day, so then I just tossed in a few pairs of shorts and sundresses for the evenings. Done!
Here are some of my favorite types of summer staples for beach or pool days.

Here are some of my favorite types of summer staples for beach or pool days.
Wear
Roberta Roller Rabbit Classic Kurta ($39-49 here)
This tunic is available in seven different colors and patterns, although sizes are limited since they are on such good sale, down from $94.
Shine
Tory Burch Large T Logo Stud Earrings ($68 here)
Stud earrings are a go-to for me in the summer, especially in gold.
Carry
Sole Society Millie Printed Oversize Tote ($59 here)
I love this oversized bag from Sole Society -- if you need an invitation to join SS, click here. I love that they offer free shipping.
Protect
EOS Lemon Drop Lip Balm ($3 here)
My mom gave me this lip balm in my Christmas stocking. I love the bright, citrusy scent and it has SPF 15 in it to protect you from the sun's rays.
Sip
At the beach, I had my first ever Moscow Mule. I saw these gaining a lot of popularity while I was pregnant, so they were obviously a no-go for me. Well, LOVE. Here is a recipe so you can create your own Moscow Mule. World Market also has the mugs for $20 (here) and make sure to check out coupon codes for WM on Retail Me Not here.
Prance
These Jack Rogers jelly sandals ($68 here) are adorable and perfect for the pool or beach since they can be hosed right off. I also love Zappos since they have free shipping both ways.
And lastly, spray sunscreen and a comfy oversized towel, which I like to buy at places like TJ Maxx and Marshalls.
Happy summering!
